Southern Precision’s farm mapping services utilise the high accuracy of our RTK Rover Unit to locate fence boundaries and capture many other features such as cropping boundaries, troughs, drains, dams, vegetation buildings etc. Farm mapping output can complement vehicle guidance patterns with Trimble autosteer hardware, drainage analysis and variable rate.

The outlook for farm mapping into the future is establishing accurate vehicle guidance and the capture of farm paddock layouts for future technology developments, in particular virtual fences. Having an accurate farm map in a geospatial format will allow for a quick farm transformation to virtual fences.
