IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR TRIMBLE RTX OR XFILL USERS

Effective 1st December 2022 in Australia Trimble implemented a security update.

If your display or receiver is below the following minimum firmware you will need to upgrade your firmware to continue to receive RTX corrections or utilise XFill RTK backup.

Trimble FMX/FM1000 firmware version 10.18
DOWNLOAD FIRMWARE

This firmware upgrade includes fixes, enhancements & new features for the FMX display and these are detailed in the release notes.

If your FMX/FM1000 firmware is below version 9.25 we recommend upgrading to 9.25 before stepping to 10.18

Use the smallest and oldest USB you can get your hands on as the FMX usb port is USB1.0 and most new larger USB3.0 drives will not be recognised by the display.

Unzip/Extract the downloaded file, copy the firmware to the root directory of a USB drive and install via the “Upgrade” button on the home screen of the display

Select a firmware file from the Firmware list and tap Upgrade.

After the upgrade is complete, tap OK. The system will shut down and then power on the display to complete the upgrade.

Once the display is powered up check the GPS receiver is set to your RTX subscription and frequency is 1545.2725, baud rate 1200 bps & datum GDA94 

Trimble CFX-750/FM-750 firmware version 7.79
DOWNLOAD FIRMWARE

Upgrade includes fixes, enhancements & new features for the CFX-750 (non-english language packs not included)

If your current CFX-750 firmware is below version 6.0 we recommend upgrading to version 6.0 before version 7.79

Firmware file download requires unzipping and the upgrade file copied to your USB (not in any folders).

We strongly recommend backing up configurations (Settings>System>Advanced>Save/Load Configurations) and field data (via Settings>Data menu) to a USB prior to updating firmware plus its also a good idea to unplug all cables at the display other than power prior to installing the upgrade to minimise the risk of the display getting into a boot loop.

Once the upgrade is complete and saved configuration has been loaded if applicable check your RTX Configuration frequency is 1545.2725 and baud rate 1200 bps.

 

Trimble CFX-750/FM-750 firmware bundle for prior to version 6.0
DOWNLOAD FIRMWARE

If your CFX-750 is currently prior to version 6.0 it is recommended to step your way up gradually up to current recommended version 7.79 while trying to minimise the risk of losing data and causing damage to the unit.

Firmware file download pack requires unzipping and the upgrade files copied to your USB (not in any folders).

Insert the USB into the display and select the next closest version to what your display is currently and gradually upgrade the unit repeating this process.

We strongly recommend backing up configurations (Settings>System>Advanced>Save/Load Configurations) and field data (via Settings>Data) to a USB prior to updating firmware plus its also a good idea to unplug all cables at the display other than power prior to installing the upgrade to minimise the risk of the display getting into a boot loop.

This firmware upgrade pack is recommended if your FMX/FM1000 firmware is below version 9.25 we recommend upgrading to 9.25 before stepping to 10.18
